012: Traditions

December 4, 2015 By Arminda

Traditions

The All Arminda Virtual Show, episode 12

Spoiler Alert: Arminda reveals what she does not eat and how that informs what she does eat for traditional holiday feasts.

Note: The spoiler alert mentioned above has little to do with the intention of this episode, which is really asking yourself the following questions:

Are you committed to the tradition of your traditions?

How can you reinvent the way (and why) you do what you do every day?

Are you stuck in a traditional way of living your life that might be fun to shake up to see what happens?

Remove the (made up) meaning from just one of your traditions and tell me what you see!

Loving you,
arminda

Happy Birthday, Steve Chandler

November 27, 2015 By Arminda

Chandler3To say that Steve Chandler being part of my life as my coach and mentor has changed my life is not said lightly.

Andy Fry of the Be Happiness Project eloquently shares the learning available to each of us on this exciting journey of being human:

The way I think of this transfer of wisdom and love working is like an abundant waterfall as it passes down from person to person. It doesn’t stop there either because it’s recycled from great lakes and rivers of learning and experience back to the source in a beautiful unbroken cycle, like the rain and water that sustains us!

That abundant waterfall of wisdom and love and service is Steve Chandler personified. And I relish every single opportunity that is mine to drench myself in his coaching and in his example and in his books.

For Steve’s birthday I wanted to tell him “Happy Birthday,” of course, but I also wanted to express in a small way that his impact on my life has had — and continues to have — a ripple effect that we won’t likely ever be able to measure.

In creating this birthday video for him, I was able to continue impacting lives as I discussed with each of the participants more about Steve and his positive influence on my life.

I don’t share all of this to suggest that others haven’t also influenced and impacted me. I do want to acknowledge that along the journey there are standout individuals whose paths cross ours at just the right time, for just the right reasons, and with such a force that the direction of our sails is altered from that moment forward.

Steve is such a force in my life.

With gratitude,

All the Feelings

November 23, 2015 By Arminda

All the Feelings

Events and/or others’ actions can seem to cause a rush of emotions and questions and fears, all erupting simultaneously within us.

Inherent in this “system” of reacting is a misunderstanding about the reason we are upset at all.

Commonly, we believe events and other people cause our feelings.

Because ________ happened, I’m devastated.
When __________ took place, it forced me to say something.
He said _________ and it really upset me.
She did _________ and I’m so mad because of it.
They didn’t _________ and now I’m completely frazzled.

EVENTS/PEOPLE ==> FEELINGS

However, when we pause between event and response, there is a small space in which we formulate a thought about that event, and to that thought we attach an emotional reaction.

Events and people don’t cause our emotions. Rather, our thoughts about the event or the person create the feelings.

What?!

We have the power within us to own and to control and to generate the very emotions and feelings we want to experience WHEN we see the connection between the event and the reaction.

EVENTS/PEOPLE ==> THOUGHTS ==> FEELINGS

Viktor Frankl said:

Everything can be taken from [someone] but one thing: the last of human freedoms — to choose one’s own way.

Choose to be free from the emotional weight of other people’s actions and the events you do not control. Choose to emotionally experience life in a way that fills you up and not in a way that depletes you. Choose to pause — take that proverbial deep breath and count to ten — and choose what to think.

Events only provide us with information and nothing more.

011: Kamin Samuel Interview

Kamin Samuel Interview

The All Arminda Virtual Show

Kamin Samuel Interview

I love Kamin Samuel. Really. She’s remarkable. This was my second opportunity to interview her about money and money fears and our relationship with money. I encourage you to listen to our first conversation, recorded with the astonishing Elatia Abate. (I’m not at all biased when it comes to my friends, as you can tell.)

During this discussion, Kamin and I spend a lot of time discussing the power of language and the words we speak and what that has to do with money.

We also get to talk about wealth and abundance and what those two words’ meanings include and the energy of money.

Kamin’s Recommended System for Increasing Wealth:

  1. Read “The Wealth Exercise” from The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.
  2. Each morning do “The Wealth Exercise” for at least 30 seconds, ideally a few minutes. Kamin only uses the word wealth. Ask yourself, “what would it feel like to have…”
  3. Write down any inspirations or ideas that come forward, like to call or email someone, get your resume together, make an appointment of some kind
  4. Take action. The goal is to take action that day and watch what magic can happen.
  5. HAVE FUN and step into the flow of experiencing more wealth and success in your life. Enjoy!

I’m also excited to tell you Kamin and I have a couple of surprises up our sleeves coming to you soon. If you have additional questions for Kamin, please let me know!

Abundance is not something we acquire; it is something we tune into.

010: Christina Berkley Interview

Christina Berkley Interview

The All Arminda Virtual Show

Christina Berkley Interview

Christina Berkley embodies power in the most loving context  and it was an absolute honor interviewing her.

I know you’ll love this candid discussion around power and how we define it, relate to it, use it and shy away from it.

If you’re curious at all about this sometimes nebulous force, enjoy all that Christina has to say and I feel certain you’ll come away with a different perspective and some tools you can use right now to shift your own sense of power within.

If you’re interested in connecting with Christina, she’s a coach and speaker living in New York City. Her clients are extraordinary beings and leaders in their lives. Whether she’s working with moms, politicians, celebrities, musicians, activists, entrepreneurs, coaches etc., she is madly interested in each person’s unique expression and capacity to change themselves and the world.

The search and evolution of Power has been central to her life. Although she’s trained with some of the best coaches and teachers alive today, her greatest learnings have come from living on the edges, both on purpose and not. Her mission is to pass on that wisdom and get people connected to their own infinite reserves of power, tremendous capacity for love, and to help them wildly succeed in their businesses, and prosper along the way.

Loving you,
arminda

Andrew McKee Interview

Meet my dear friend Andrew.

Change Your Game, Change Your Life  is his brand new book. And if you listen to this episode, you will quickly learn you don’t need to know anything about the game of golf to appreciate the wisdom in Andrew’s concept.

Andrew and I talk about so much more than golf.

Our conversation is about connecting.

Here’s Andrew’s concept broken down in three simple steps, but listen to get all the juicy understanding:

  1. Identify your “game”
  2. Identify your barriers
  3. Bring love & connect

I’ve heard Andrew sing. Don’t miss this opportunity. Here’s a recording of him performing Stars from Les Miserables. The song he performed when I first met him was Anthem from the musical, Chess. As soon as I get access to a recording I’ll share it here.

GI Joe reference? Yes, that, too.

Loving you,
arminda

Sing Out Loud

The All Arminda Virtual Show, episode 8

Singing a song out loud and with enthusiasm does something magical and moves us up our Ladder of Consciousness.

And nothing beats Buddy the Elf‘s wisdom on that one, folks:

The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.

If you haven’t seen my video about that ladder — now’s a great time to have a look!

Loving you,

007: Serving or Pleasing?

November 19, 2015 By Arminda

Serving or Pleasing?

The All Arminda Virtual Show, episode 7

What would be the most useful way for you to show up in your relationships?

If your answer is about making the other person happy, you’re only going to be unhappy.

The only person who can make YOU happy, is YOU.

Happiness comes from the inside out and we can manufacture that from within and success follows. Every single time.

Are you out to get or out to give?

Is there a belief that needs to be dissolved in the way you’re showing up in your own life?

Loving you,
arminda

006: Serving in Business

Serving in Business

The All Arminda Virtual Show, episode 6

The key to success is SERVICE and not about focusing on a number, or a dollar amount, or on client acquisition or about closing more deals.

Jonathan Keyser wrote the book Disruptive and the quote I shared is this:

When you pour your energies and resources and relationship into helping all the people you touch in as many ways as you can and then getting up the next day and doing it all over again, that is service. And that is the mindset that leads those who follow to extraordinary success and wealth beyond their wildest dreams.

What are your thoughts about service? Agree or disagree with Jonathan?

Loving you,
arminda
